RUMFORD — Dr. Dieter Kreckel, president of the Maine Medical Association and a doctor at Rumford Hospital and Swift River Medicine for 20 years, was honored by the Maine Legislature as Doctor of the Day on the opening day of the legislative session Jan. 8.

Becky Hall, manager of the Rumford Hospital provider practices and a spokeswoman for the practice, said Kreckel is a dedicated and community-minded physician. “Dr. Kreckel sets a perfect example of service to his community, both as a physician and as a River Valley citizen,” she said.
