1923 – 2013

WEST PARIS — Elizabeth (Buck) Hodgdon died Friday, Feb. 15.

She was born at home in Buckfield on Oct. 10, 1923, the daughter of Gladys and Leroy Buck. She attended Buckfield school and married Frank R. Hodgdon Sr. on Sept. 30, 1940; they were married for 48 years.

Elizabeth was always a hard-working woman. She picked apples, cleaned houses, babysat kids and painted a lot. Elizabeth was a faithful wife, loving mother, grandmother, friend and aunt.

She is survived by three children, Flora G. Blake of Mechanic Falls, Frank R. Hodgdon Jr. of Buckfield and Mary E. McLean of Rumford; a sister, Stella Thompson of Norway; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and lots of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband; three brothers; three sisters; and her parents.
