PORTLAND — Former Auburn resident Patricia Daunis-Dunning and William Dunning, artist/owners of Daunis Fine Jewelry, 616 Congress St., Portland, have won two 2013 MJSA Vision Awards.

In the custom design category, Daunis tied for first place for its “18k Gold Egg” and received a second place award for its “33 1/3rd Anniversary Necklace.”

Winning pieces will receive a cash prize, recognition in trade publications,  including Metalsmith Magazine, INSTORE Magazine and the MJSA Journal. They will be on display during MJSA’s Expo New York Show at the Hilton Hotel New York City, March 10-12.

William and Patricia are graduates of the Rhode Island School of Design. They come to the jewelry field as artists/sculptors and take on every piece created at Daunis with that in mind. The studio/showroom is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, some Saturdays and some evenings. Appointments are available to accommodate clients’ schedules. One can look in the workshop and see what is being worked on.

Daunis has been honored for its artistry over the years. Awards include two World Gold First Prizes, DeBeers’s Diamonds Today Award, Niche Award, and Jewelers of America Jewel Award.
