Watercolor, acrylic classes

AUBURN — Auburn Adult and Community Education provides opportunity for students to register for Art of Watercolor and Acrylic Painting with artist instructor Barbara Hathaway, “Painter of Sunsets.”

Art of Watercolor begins March 26, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and Acrylic Painting begins March 21 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and both classes run for five weeks. The classes are held in the Art Room No. 142 at Edward Little High School.

Students need to bring watercolor paper or canvas for acrylic painting, brushes and paints for the medium that is needed for the class for which they have registered. Beginners to semi-pro can use the techniques to complete a painting to frame on the last session.

The techniques used quickly make landscapes with sky, sunset, mountains, trees, water and reflections. Other objects can be added for detail. Students watch a demo and paint along or can work at their own pace. Students may bring a photo to use for inspiration.
