THE VILLAGES, Fla. — Madeline M. Hare, 84, died Thursday, Feb. 21, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Lewiston, Feb. 8, 1929, the daughter of Cecile (Nadeau) and Edward Murphy. She moved to North Fort Myers from Syracuse, N.Y., in 1988, and moved to The Villages, Fla., in 2005.
She graduated from Lewiston High School and received her RN degree from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Portland. She worked at Massachusetts General and various other hospitals over the years.
Her compassion for people and love for her family were traits that defined who Madeline was. She was an avid reader and loved playing Mahjong with friends.
Survivors include her husband, Malcolm; daughters, Sue Ann Morgan of The Villages, Fla., and Elaine Hare of West Palm Beach, Fla.; sons, Malcolm III of Tampa, Fla., and William of Encinitas, Calif.; sister, Jean Fournier of Lewiston; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; and brothers, Edward, Bernard and Thomas.
