LEWISTON — Sylvia A. Cavanaugh, 79, of Hartford, daughter of Raymond and Marjorie McCarron, died peacefully on Feb. 26, at Central Maine Medical Center, surrounded by her family.
She graduated from Brighton High School in Massachusetts, and raised her family in Dedham. She worked for many years at Crum & Forster as an auto claims adjuster until her retirement in 1994, when she moved to Maine.
She was a member of St. Philips Church. Sylvia loved socializing, shopping, strawberry ice cream and being with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Colleen Swanson and husband, Harley, of Hartford, and Maureen Amato and husband, Mike, of Quincy, Mass.; and six grandchildren, Harley, Marjorie, Miranda, Alicia, Erica and Derek. She is also survived by her siblings, Priscilla Burns of Campbell, N.Y., and Bruce McCarron of Malden, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Paul; and her siblings, Raymond McCarron Jr. and Marcia Julien.
She will surely be missed.
