I was never supportive of Gov. Paul LePage; however, I must comment on his State of the State Address, finding it more impressive than his first one. Although the governor might not be a public speaker like President Obama, at least he doesn’t speak with a crooked tongue.

LePage’s intentions of having Maine prosper are good and genuine, but too overwhelming for him to fulfill during the second half of his term in office. Compounding the problems that he inherited are his list of priorities. It has become absolutely impossible to solve them all in two years.

If some miracle allows LePage to push through at least a quarter of his priorities and solve the inherited problems, that would be more than what Obama accomplished during his first term in office.

We must accept that it would take someone with indomitable spirit to solve all the problems that could still make Maine insolvent, despite having recently come up with a plan to repay millions in long-term debt to the state’s hospitals.

After he was elected, Gov. LePage acted too much like a dictator and, at times, his language was unacceptable. He still has difficulties controlling his emotions. Despite being discredited publicly, he refuses to be intimidated by anyone.
