“The Alchemy of Teaching” explores how students and teachers can transform each other’s lives. Through engaging narrative, Conway illuminates the transformative effects of education on the “student from hell” who argues with him constantly, a student diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, and a talented student who is just going through the motions, among others. Conway has published over 40 articles on philosophy, teaching and his experiences with students. He has received the university’s Outstanding Teaching Award several times.
The event will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 21 and is free and open to the public. For more information, call 207-780-4072 or email [email protected].
