1918 – 2013
RUMFORD — Eva T. Grondin, 94, formerly of Dalton Avenue in Mexico, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, at Rumford Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born in Rumford on March 17, 1918, a daughter of Peter and Yvonne (Molleur) Thibodeau.
Eva was educated in Mexico schools and was a graduate of Mexico High School, Class of 1938. She married Roland Grondin on June 13, 1942, in Hattisburg, Miss. Together they celebrated 45 years of marriage.
She was employed for five years with Oxford Paper Company and later was employed in Quality Control at Diamond Match Co. for 22 years.
Eva was a former member of the Snowshoe Club and the Eagles Auxiliary.
She enjoyed quilting, rug braiding and crafts of all kind.
Surviving are her children, Roland H. Grondin of West Palm Beach, Fla., Ted M. Grondin and wife, Eveline, of Sarasota, Fla., Bunny Morris of Rumford, and Elizabeth L. Litalien and husband, Jerry, of Mexico; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Roland; two sisters, Marian Degilorma and Gloria Richard; and two brothers, Homer and Levi Thibodeau.
