AUBURN — Joan Thorne, 80, of Rumford, died March 3, at the Hospice House.

Joan was born July 10, 1932, the daughter of Theophile and Alice (Robichaud) Langteigne. In her younger years, she worked at Newberry’s, and after her children were grown, she worked at Ames Department

Store.

Joan enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, reading, knitting and watching old movies and detective shows.

She is survived by her husband, Reginald of Rumford; two daughters, Tammy and husband, Dennis Chiasson, of Standish and Nancy and husband, John Parent, from Mont Vernon, N.H.; two sons, Daniel Thorne of New Britain, Conn., and David and wife, Cindy Thorne, of Standish; eight grandchildren, Matt, Katie and Eric Chiasson, Amelia and Jacob Parent, Ethan, Haley and Nicholas Thorne; two sisters, Gloria Desalle of Rumford and Yvonne Barrieau of Florida.

Joan was predeceased by her mother and father; and sisters, Cecilia Langteigne and Janet Pepin.
