People’s United Community Foundation, the philanthropic arm of People’s United Bank, recently awarded $7,500 to Maine Housing and Building Materials Exchange. The grant will support BME’s Building Materials Supply Fund, which offers new and recycled building materials at an affordable price to low-income homeowners. Materials provided include roofing, exterior doors and heating systems, and allow eligible participants to maintain, repair and improve their homes. Ladd, officer at People’s United Community Foundation and vice chairman of People’s United Bank’s Southern Maine Division.
