FARMINGTON — University of Maine at Farmington police broke up an underage drinking party in a dormitory at UMF’s Scott Hall on Saturday night.

Emily A. Marron, 19, of Auburn, and Molly J. Reed, 19, of Lebanon, N.H., were arrested on a charge of furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol, UMF police Chief Edward Blais said Monday.

UMF police officer Levi Gould responded to a report of noise at about 9:50 p.m. and it led to the arrests, he said.

The youngest person was age 19 in the dormitory room. All but one was a college student, Blais said. At least seven people were there, he said.

Farmington police Sgt. Michael Adcock responded to assist Gould.

Marron and Reed were released Sunday on $3,000 unsecured bail. They are scheduled to appear in a Farmington court on May 8.
