Widows or Widowers Sharing to meet

RUMFORD — WOWS, Widows or Widowers Sharing, will meet at 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, at the Rumford Senior Center, 50 Congress St. Refreshment will be provided by Bernadette Hodgkins and Margaret Welch.

All area widows or widowers are welcome to join. For more information, call Barbara Morse at 562-4225.

Seats available for educational trip

RUMFORD — A few seats are still available on a 30-passenger Northeast Charter Bus for an historical educational trip to Augusta on Tuesday, April 23.

Tours of the State House, the Blaine House (Governor’s Mansion), Maine State Museum and Maine Archives are being arranged by District 93 Rep. Sheryl Brigg and Amanda Brown, museum educator.

The cost is $25 a person, refundable up to April 9, in event of cancellation by the sponsoring historical societies or by an individual. Persons may choose to participate in any or all tours.

Lunch is at the participant’s expense and will be available at the Cross Cafeteria in the Cross Office Building. The seats are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Reserve a seat by sending a check made out to Rumford Historical Society, and sent to Treasurer Lewis Irish, PO Box 186, Rumford, ME. 04276. Indicate choice of tours. Checks must be received no later than April 4.

Trailblazers to meet at town hall

MEXICO — The Mexico Trailblazers will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, downstairs in the Mexico Town Hall. All are welcome.

Those who would like to become a members may attend the meeting or call Nick Brown at 364-8665.
