AUBURN — Central Maine Community College (CMCC) will host its annual spring open house for interested students and their families from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 6, at its lakeside campus at 1250 Turner St.

“We are really looking forward to our spring open house this year,” said Director of Admissions and Financial Aid John Bowie. “We have made significant changes in the format and we are encouraging our visitors to attend for the entire three-hour event, as there will be plenty of activities for them. As always, students who complete an admissions application at the open house will have the application fee waived.”

Attendees can compete for prizes during a “So You Think You Know CMCC?” game show and have their names entered in a drawing for scholarships to attend CMCC in the fall.

A scavenger hunt will allow prospective students to be entered in a second scholarship drawing. Those who RSVP for the open house by going to http://tinyurl.com/amhr663, will be entered in a third scholarship drawing.

In addition to having all academic programs and student activities on display, the college will host a student panel and information sessions for nursing admissions, athletics and academic support services. Staff members will be on hand to assist with the admissions and financial aid process.

CMCC offers more than 24 career and technical programs that prepare graduates for immediate employment or transfer to a four-year institution. In addition to on-campus housing and a number of campus organizations and activities, the college also offers baseball, softball, men’s and women’s basketball, soccer and lacrosse, and coed golf and cross-country.
