RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Joseph B. “Hawkeye” Thibodeau was celebrated Thursday at Parish of the Holy Savior. The Rev. Robert Vaillancourt was the celebrant. Bernard Poirier was the altar server. Mark Belanger was the organist. Music selections were “Ave Maria,” “Amazing Grace” and “Fly Like A Bird.” The Old Testament was proclaimed by great-grandson Nick Billings. The New Testament was proclaimed by great-grandson Nate Billings. Prayer of the faithful was offered by granddaughter Brande Vining. Offertory gifts were presented by granddaughters Erin and Erica Thibodeau. Personal reflections were shared by daughter Sheryl O’Leary. Spring interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Pallbearers were Nicholas Billings, Nathan Billings, Richard White, Mike LaPointe, Paul Hamel and Jerry Hamel. A reception served by the Daughters of Isabella was in the parish hall. Services were under the care and guidance of SG Thibault Funeral Home.
