AUBURN — Oliver R. Bernard, 87, of West Poland, died Thursday, March 21, at Clover Manor Nursing Home.

He was born in Lisbon, on Feb. 12, 1926, the son of Joseph and Aurora Boucher Bernard.

He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Loretta Leavitt on May 8, 1952. He had been a welder and had his own business. He was also a carpenter and built their home on Megquier Hill. He enjoyed reading Louis L’amour novels.

He is survived by his wife of West Poland; grandchildren, Heather Conley and husband, Adam, and John Bernard and wife, Tammy; great-grandchildren, Lacresha, Kearra, Nickolas, Hunter and Nicole; a sister-in-law, Laurel Martin; a brother, John Boucher; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Robert Joseph Bernard; and sisters, Lucille, Georgette and Josette.

He will be loved and sadly missed by all.
