LEWISTON — Recently the L & A Veterans Council elected their new officers for the year. They are Raymond “Blackie” Boulet, chairman; Maurice Dutil, vice chairman; Sally Wortherspoon, secretary; Cecile Burgoyne, treasurer; and Bert Dutil, advisor.
Any requests concerning the council or applications for names to be added on the stones in Veterans Park should be sent to L & A Veterans Council, P.O. Box 2316, Lewiston ME 04241.
There are about 50 spaces left to finish stone No. 25, which is the final stone currently planned for Veterans Park.
The dedication and unveiling of stone No. 24 and possibly No. 25 will take place Saturday, May 25, at the Memorial Day ceremony after the parade which starts at 9:30 a.m.

The council also hopes to hold a special ceremony Saturday, July 27, for the 60th anniversary of the end of the Korean War. More information will be given at a later date.
