LISBON — The Burnt Meadow Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, has announced that Gwenyth Claire Fraser has been selected as the 2013 Oak Hill High School Good Citizen and Kristianna Lee Benoit has been selected as the Good Citizen for Lisbon High School for 2013.

Gwenyth was the founder and editor of the monthly newspaper, performed in the band and chorus, was semi-finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program, on the honor roll every semester, was contest winner for high school poetry and short story of the Oak Hill Young Writers Club. She is an active and successful participant in many other activities.

Kristianna is a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, chorus and is yearbook editor. She feels “service above self” is important and worked in a fundraiser for a young child with liver cancer. She is an active and successful participant in many other activities.

Members of the Burnt Meadow Chapter also announced the Good Citizenship Medal recipients from Oak Hill High School and Lisbon High School.

Emma Weissenfels, daughter of Kelly and Beth Weissenfels of Litchfield,  is this year’s medal recipient from Oak Hill High School. She is a sophomore and plans to explore subjects at Oak Hill and continue to take challenging courses. She hopes to join the band next year. Her future plans are to attend college.

Nichole Jones, daughter of Brian and Lhu Jones of Lisbon Falls, is Lisbon High School’s medal recipient. She enjoys tennis, swimming, reading and camping. She has volunteered with special needs children in Special Olympics and Young Adult volunteer projects. A member of the National Honor Society, Nichole’s future goal is to become a children’s physical therapist. She plant to attend college.

A luncheon at the home of member Corley Anne Byras will be held at noon April 13 to honor all four recipients.
