1922 – 2013

FARMINGTON — Merlon Watson Reynolds, 90, of Farmington, died of natural causes early Good Friday morning, March 29, at his home, with his son by his side.

He was born June 9, 1922, in Burnham, a son of Elmer and Grace (Hall) Reynolds. He attended schools in Clinton and was a veteran, having served during World War II in the United States Air Force, where he became a second lieutenant pilot and flew 48 combat missions in the Pacific.

On June 15, 1949,  he married Florence Paul. She died on Oct. 16, 2005.

In 1982, he retired from International Paper Co., Jay. He will be remembered by many for his years of working in his son’s business, Riverside Greenhouse, Farmington.

He is survived by his son, Kurt Reynolds and his wife, Beth, of Farmington; grandchildren, Christopher Reynolds, Garrett Reynolds, Kiely Reynolds and Ailson Reynolds; sister, Christine Labelle of West Farmington; half-sisters, Arlene Smith of Fairfield, Sharon Shingles of California, Joyce Elkins of Thorndike; two brothers, Gary Reynolds of Waterville and Alden Reynolds of Fairfield.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a half-brother, Roger Reynolds; and a daughter-in-law, Maria Reynolds.
