FARMINGTON — SAVES, Franklin County’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Respo nse Services, will sponsor events for Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April. Events include:

* Paint the Town Teal: Businesses in downtown Farmington will display teal items in their front windows, and a poster to raise awareness.

* Carhartt Ball and Silent Auction: 7 p.m., Friday, April 5, at Calzolaio Pasta Co. in Wilton. With the purchase of a ticket, attendees will be entered to win a new Carhartt jacket and hat, a $200 value. A live DJ will play requests and Jamie Lynn Photography will take pictures. A King and Queen of the Ball will be crowned.

* Free viewing of “Nefarious: Merchant of Souls.” April 10, 7 p.m. panel discussion; 8 p.m. movie screening Thomas Auditorium on the University of Maine at Farmington campus. The award-winning documentary brings to light the disturbing reality of human trafficking and sex slavery. Due to the intense subject matter, SAVES advocates will be available for support.

* UMF Softball Game: April 13, 3 p.m. Prescott Field on the UMF campus.

* 15th Annual March for Violence-Free Communities: April 24, 5:30 p.m. Meeting House Park at the gazebo, Main Street, Farmington. The march will end with a Speak Out at The Old South Church on Main Street where light refreshments will be served. Dr. Ellen Grunblatt, MD and LCPC, who has been affiliated with SAVES for 30 years, will be the keynote speaker.
