SCARBOROUGH — Harry J. Myles, 83, of Highland Terrace, Mexico, passed away Tuesday, April 2, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Kellie Myles in Scarborough.

He was born in Mexico, Sept. 28, 1929, a son of Matthew and Ethel (Getchell) Myles. Harry was educated in Mexico schools and was a graduate of Mexico High School, Class of 1948.

He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Harry married Joyce Calden, Oct. 21, 1950, together they celebrated 58 years of marriage; she passed away on July 1, 2008.

He was employed as a papermaker with Oxford Paper Co. for more than 40 years. Harry was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and family gatherings at the camps on Cupsuptic Stream.

Surviving are his children, Steven H. Myles and wife, Kellie, of Scarborough, Mark D. Myles of Rumford and Ross Myles and wife, Kate, of Gorham; a brother, Charlie Myles of Mexico; and six grandchildren, Ryan Myles and wife, Shauna, Patrick Myles, Megan Myles, Brittany Myles, Cameron Myles and Allie Myles.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Joyce; three brothers, Matthew, James and Orin; and a sister, Catherine Puiia.
