RUMFORD — On Easter Sunday, March 31, God opened his arms, embraced Kristy M. Tidswell and brought her to his home.

Kristy was born Feb. 20, 1979, with a congenital heart defect and endured numerous procedures to prolong her life expectancy. She is the daughter of Earland and Elizabeth (Papasadora) Tidswell Jr. and was a lifelong resident of 293 Route 108 in Rumford. She graduated from Mt. Valley High School, Class of 1999.

Kristy touched many lives with her kind-hearted nature and sweet personality. She enjoyed playing games, making puzzles, knitting, being in the company of her friends and spending time with her best friends, Nanni and Grampa and her pride and joy, Bella. One of her proudest moments was in March 2009 when she became “Auntie” to her nephew, Ryder.

Survivors include her parents, Earland and Elizabeth Tidswell Jr. of Rumford; a brother, Eric Tidswell and his girlfriend, Kayla, of Peru; a nephew, Ryder Tidswell and Ryder’s mother, Christy, of Ohio; maternal grandparents, Ralph and Betty Papasadora of Rumford; aunts, Shirley and her husband, Jamie Gallant, of Rumford, Gloria Tidswell of Mexico, Brenda Cushman and her husband, Greg, of Mexico, Sherry Tidswell of Dixfield, Gayle Tidswell and Marie Papasadora; uncle, Mike Tidswell and his wife, Donna, of Rumford; cousins too numerous to mention; other survivors include Barbara and Al Smith of Rumford.

Kristy was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Toddy; aunts, Peggy Papasadora and Jackie Tidswell; and her uncle, Bobby Tidswell.

The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to her volunteers, Polly and Evelyn who brightened her week, her nurses, Gayle, Tara, Phoebe and Nancy, Wendy who inspired Kristy to live each day to the fullest and her doctors, Paul Parker, Adrian Morin, Joel Worth, Richard McFaul and Michele Knapp, along with her compassionate staff.
