PORTLAND — Police say a New York man has been arrested in the death of a woman whose body was discovered in January in a vehicle in a motel parking lot.

Police announced Wednesday that Anthony Pratt was taken into custody a day earlier in Queens, New York, following questioning by Portland detectives. He’s being held in New York pending extradition proceedings.

The 19-year-old Pratt is charged with murder in the death of 29-year-old Westbrook resident Margarita Fisenko Scott, whose remains were discovered Jan. 17 inside an SUV in a Motel 6 parking lot.

Police believe Pratt, who was dating Fisenko Scott, used a gun to kill her in November. Her remains were later put in the vehicle and abandoned.
