1930 – 2013

SOUTH PARIS — Dr. Rodolphe A. Grenier, 82, of 11 Martin Drive, Lewiston, died Thursday, April 11, at Maine Veterans’ Home, with his family by his side.
 
Born in Boston, July 2, 1930, a son of the late Thomas and Bernadette Goulet Grenier, he graduated from St. Dominic High School in the Class of 1949, from Assumption College, 1953, and Laval University in Quebec in 1959.
 
He served in obstetrics and gynecology in the U.S. Navy for 30 years, with two tours of duty in Vietnam, retiring as captain. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Family Church.
 
Rudy served as pitcher on the St. Dom’s  baseball team and was also a member of the football team. He was an all-star pitcher for all four years at Assumption College. He was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching old movies. 
 
 He will be remembered for his selflessness and total dedication to his profession.
 
 He is survived by seven sisters, Jeanine Beaupre of Enfield, Conn., Claudette Guilmette and husband, Raymond, of Enfield, Conn., Madeleine Girardin of Lewiston,Georgette Clavet of Lewiston, Ginette Gladu and husband, Robert, of Lewiston, Marthe Stokowski and husband, Stanley, of California, Joanne Grenier of Lewiston; five brothers, John Grenier and wife, Monique, of Lewiston, Raymond Grenier and wife, Sonia, of Wisconsin, Pierre Grenier of Lewiston, Bernard Grenier and wife, Marilyn, of Lewiston, Paul Grenier and wife, Anita, of Lewiston; sisters-in-law, Therese Grenier of Connecticut, Rita Grenier of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.
 
He was predeceased by four brothers,Gerald, Renald (Earl), Thomas and Rene Grenier; three brothers-in-law, Richard Beaupre, Emile Clavet and Robert Girardin.
