LISBON FALLS — Spence and Carol Lycan of Hixson, Tenn., are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Erin Lycan of Christianburg, Va., to Timothy Ridley of Christianburg, Va., son of Terry Ridley and the late Raymond Ridley of Lisbon Falls.

Miss Lycan is a 2001 graduate of Soddy Daisy High School in Soddy Daisy, Tenn., and graduated in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of Virginia. She started her career as an assistant women’s soccer coach at Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas, from 2008 to 2010 and went to Davidson College, Davidson, N.C., in the same capacity. In March 2010 to the present, she went to Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va.

Mr. Ridley is a 1999 graduate of Lisbon High School and in 2003 graduated from Springfield College in Springfield, Mass., with a bachelor’s degree in exercise sciences. He started his career as a strength and condition coach at Davidson College in Davidson, N.C., and is currently working as an assistant strength and conditioning coach and teacher at Radford University in Radford, Va.

The couple met while they both worked at Davidson College. The wedding will be held on June 1 at Zan Guerry Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tenn.
