1932 – 2013
LEWISTON — Francis “Frank” Brooks, 80, of Nob Hill Ave., died Wednesday, April 24, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with his loving family at his side.
He was born in Lewiston on November 30, 1932, a son of the late Napoleon and Juliette (Bussiere) Brooks. He was educated in local schools. Frank proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, then went on to serve in the National Guard. He married the love of his life, Dolores Charpentier, on June 28, 1952. Frank worked for many years and retired from his work at BIW as a pipe fitter.
Frank was a member of Holy Family Church, where he was a longtime member of The Knights of Columbus, as a fourth-degree knight. He was also part of the honor guard. Frank enjoyed playing on his computer, watching TV, photography, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dolores “Del” Brooks of Lewiston; a son, Dominique Brooks and wife, Yvonne, of Connor Twp.; two daughters, Rejeanne Basselet and husband, Guy, of Norway, and Joline Griffin and husband, Brett, of Durham; two brothers, Henry Brooks and wife, Rita, of Lewiston, and Louis Brooks of Turner; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Leonna “Sis” Paradis.
