Goff street in Auburn is being repaired and in many places entirely rebuilt. To all appearances, this work is being done as it was before and there is a general feeling that the result will be the same. One resident of the street says, “The rebuilding of Goff street seems to be the same plan as at first. I doubt if it lasts through the summer. It ought to be clear to everybody that a street built in that manner will not stand the strain of modern traffic. It was a fake and a fizzle from the start and will continue to be until it is done right. Lewiston has no such trouble.”

Though he said the problems are “probably” connected to the increase, a review of the Public Utilities Commission codes reveal the city s not responsible for the damages.
