FARMINGTON — The Recreation Department is taking registrations for Farmington-area students in grades seven and eight who want to take part in a middle-school lacrosse program.

The deadline for registering is 5 p.m. Friday, May 10, with forms accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the Farmington Community Center on Middle Street. The program is limited to the first 18 to register.

Participants will meet from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Little League field at Hippach Field starting Tuesday, May 14, and continuing through June 6.

The program is geared toward those who want to get serious about preparing for high school-level play.

Experienced players will have the opportunity to hone their skills and become more effective on the field. Less experienced players will be given the foundation to help them succeed at lacrosse.

Participants are guided through technical drills and given the opportunity to apply what they learn during scrimmages.
