Genealogy group to meet May 11

FARMINGTON — The Sandy River Valley Chapter, MGS, will meet at at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at the Farmington Public Library.

Kenneth Wing will talk about the “Lost Villages of Flagstaff Lake.” Ken and Alan Burnell are authors of a book by the same name. Anyone with an interest in genealogy is welcome to attend.

Dance benefits scholarship

JAY — A benefit dance will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at the VFW Hall, with Larry and Friends.

The event is in memory of Linda Latham for the Youth Scholarship Fund. Donations accepted. There will be a 50/50 raffle.

JAY — North Jay Grange No. 10 is celebrating 139 years with Award Night at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14. The event will be upstairs, on the second floor.

Book sale at hospital

FARMINGTON — Franklin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will hold a sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, May 16, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 17, at Franklin Memorial Hospital Bass Room. Open to the public.

There will be something for everyone: Great books, music, gifts for birthdays, Mother’s Day, anniversaries, graduation, Father’s Day and for any occasion.

FARMINGTON — Mt. Blue Area Garden members, with chairwoman K. Clary, are working hard preparing for their upcoming annual plant sale, which will open at 9 a.m. sharp on Saturday, May 18, at Meeting House Park, Main Street, across from the Farmington Court House. The event is rain or shine.

This is the club’s only fundraiser. The proceeds from this sale go to help beautify the Court House Gardens and the Monument Gardens which are enjoyed by those in the community and surrounding towns. The event has been well supported by the community and surrounding areas.

Vendor spots for annual 4-in-1 sale

SUMNER — The annual 4-in-1 sale of perennials/baked goods/yard sale/raffle items will be held Saturday, May 18, in the vestry and parking lot of the Congregational Church of East Sumner.

Fish & Game youths yard sale

WILTON — Wilton Fish & Game Rimfire and Firing Pins will have a Memorial weekend yard sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 25, 26 and 27, at the WF&G Clubhouse on Route 2.
