Owners of the downtown Sands Building this week sold the structures upper floors to a professional firm and said Friday the recent trend of creating condominium offices is likely to continue. “People are watching this very closely and I think you’ll see more of this in the future,” said Bruce Rioux, an owner of the building. Rioux and partner Roger LaRoche sold the two upper floors of the Sand Building to Technical Services, Inc., a development consulting firm moving from offices art 249 Main Street. The Sands Building is located at 128 Lisbon Street, which houses the Carriage House gift shop on the first floor. Rioux and LaRoche have an office on the second floor, but plan to vacate that section of the building.
