PARIS — The Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club had its 2013 graduation ceremony April 24 when five class members received their certificates and badges. They completed all the calls in the Mainstream Level and are now working on the Plus Level calls. Club caller, Ray Hilton, will continue lessons through the month of May. He expects these graduates will complete the calls that are in that level also.

Graduates were Daniel DeLige and Morah DeLige of Turner, Nathan Couch and Bethany Couch of Norway and Carol Archambault of Harrison.

Angel pins were awarded to graduates of previous years who were regular attendants during the class instruction to assist the class members to learn the movements.

The new angels are Richie Janerico of Harrison; Wally Vickerson, New Gloucester; Robert Weaver, Norway; Melody Cox, Bryant Pond; and Diane Bilodeau and Don Bilodeau, Mechanic Falls.

Guests are always welcome to watch the workshops on Wednesdays and the dances that are normally held the second Saturday of the month at the Oxford Hills Middle School, Pine Street. There is no charge for non-dancers.

The club announces that on Saturday, May 11, from 7 to 10 p.m., club caller Ray Hilton of Saco will call for the Mainstream/Plus square dance and Bernie Porter of Hookset, N.H., will cue for the round dancing. The dance will be held as usual in the cafeteria at the Oxford Hills Middle School, 100 Pine St.
