HARRISON — Harrison Parks and Rec summer staff is gearing up for a most exciting and fun summer program which they call “Educational Recess,” where children learn life skills from trained, energetic, caring, talented and knowledgeable counselors and swim instructors in a safe, fun and positive outdoor environment.

The program is for Harrison girls and boys entering grades 1 through 7 in the fall.

Registrations for the Fun, Friends, & Fitness eight-week Summer Recreation Day Camp and six-week American Red Cross Swim Program will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, May 14 and 15, at the Harrison Town Office for Harrison residents.

The summer day camp program will kick-off on Monday, June 24, and close on Thursday, Aug. 15. It will operate Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Crystal Lake Park and Beach. On rainy days the program will be held at the Harrison School.

The Red Cross Swim program will begin Monday, July 1, and also end on Thursday, Aug. 15. Lessons will be offered from the infant level to level 6 Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lessons are offered in two three-week sessions and are 30 minutes in length. Take advantage of rainy days as age appropriate videos are shown in the swim building.
