FARMINGTON — The annual shrub and tree pick up for all items purchased through the Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District is scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, May 10, and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 11. The pick-up site is at the white barn on Main Street in Farmington on the north side of the District Court House.

The general public is welcome to stop by during this time to buy any of the left over items which are limited in number. Some of the left over fruit trees include Haralson, Gala, Honeycrisp, Liberty, Wolf River and Macoun apple trees; Dolgo crabapple trees and peach trees. There are also some Blueray, Berkley and Duke blueberries (two varieties are needed for cross pollination); service berries, blue wisteria, red and variegated Weigela, late and Peking lilacs, yucca plants, silky dogwood which the birds absolutely love, a very few applemint, catmint (nip), neon spirea, yellow loosestrife and black walnuts as well as pep start slow release fertilizer tablets.

Colored pictures of many of these plants will be available to view at the shrub and tree pick up and sale. No sales or pick up before 1 p.m. on Friday.
