In his column, printed May 8, Cal Thomas is far more wrong than usual. His “diagnosis” of newspaper financial ills must have your own bean-counters laughing in your money vaults.

A Koch brothers purchase of Tribune Co. would not be for its non-existent revenue stream, but for the credibility its newspapers have established through many years. Only someone who equates credibility with ideology could have written that column.

Seeing the heavy finger of the Koch brothers on the ideological purity of the Cato Institute recently, it was disappointing to learn that only half of the L.A. Times people would leave.
