In his letter, published May 7, Harvey Lord was right on the money regarding U.S. involvement in other countries’ business. Unfortunately, the Sun Journal’s limit on number of words in letters prevents him and me from commenting as much as we need to.

I am not OK with any involvement of the U.S. in the Syrian conflict. There are many world leaders and other factions who would like nothing better than to see the U.S. jump into the battle arena of that Syrian fiasco, as well as in Iran, Korea, Pakistan, Afghanistan and parts of Africa, to name a few.

I am not OK with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expecting the U.S. to send troops into Syria and Iran, though I have heard that Israel has taken the initiative of bombing Syria already to get the ball rolling.

Lastly, I am definitely not OK with the CIA tossing bags of money to Hamid Karzai, reportedly on a monthly basis, per report of the recipient himself, and for what?

I am sure most people would cringe if they knew half of what promises U.S. officials make and carry out.
