PORTLAND — Dirigo Dance Project will be making its debut performance during Portland’s First Friday Artwalk from 5-7:30 p.m. Friday, June 7 at Bright Star World Dance. Two short original works choreographed by Keith Nadeau and Emily Zack will be presented. This free public performance will delight First Friday Artwalkers of all ages. Bright Star World Dance is on Monument Square, 496 Congress St., fourth floor.

Dirigo Dance Project is the brainchild of a group of seven seasoned dancers who are hungry for more dance opportunities in Northern New England. Pooling their talents and experience in a wide variety of disciplines including contemporary dance, jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop and belly dance, DDP members employ a unique collaborative approach to choreography and movement.

DDP members strive to push, inspire and motivate one another toward greater dance development and this inventive, creative effort produces a high quality audience experience. In keeping with the spirit of Dirigo Dance Project, June’s performances will showcase themes of collaboration and exploration.
