DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Mechanic Falls Library is looking for donations of books for our annual book sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18.

Books can be dropped off at the library location at the Mechanic Falls Town Office at 108 Lewiston St., Mechanic Falls. The book sale will be held in the gymnasium at the Town Office, so books can also be left there.

Thank you all for your support of the library. The money from the book sale goes to support the summer reading club and to purchase children’s books for the library.

We are sorry to say we cannot accept textbooks and encyclopedias for the sale. — Nancy Petersons, nepesons@myfairpoint.net

ANSWER: Here’s a chance for all of you who have written to Sun Spots looking for a home for your used books. Note that they are not taking encyclopedias. Sun Spots suggests recycling.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Tables are still available for the craft fair and yard sale fundraiser for the LACO food bank in the Lisbon Falls area. We have a number of crafters, scrapbooking and stamping supplies, along with yard sale items so far.

ANSWER: Sun Spots recently had a question about power washing and some of those responding also do windows (see following letters). From previous responses she has J&G Window Cleaning & Pressure Washing, Lewiston, a family-owned business established in 2006, 786-8573.
