1971 – 2013
RANGELEY — John P. Spencer Jr., 41, of Litchfield, died unexpectedly on Dec. 30.
Born on July 23, 1971, he was the son of John P. Spencer Sr. and Linda Kell Spencer Voisine.
Educated locally, he was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of ’91, where he played football and lacrosse. He loved the outdoors and worked outside doing construction for many years. He eventually got his truck driver’s license, learning from his father. He was a joyous person to be around and there was never a dull moment with John. He put adventure into everything he did, from riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, playing in a men’s football league, to racing at Oxford Plains Speedway, where he was named 2007 Rookie of the Year.
John loved spending time with family and friends, especially his daughter, Cassidy, who meant the world to him, and his nephew, Bryce, who was his “little man.” He passed doing something he loved with two good friends by his side, Glenn Henderson of Sabattus and Ken Henderson of China.
Survivors include his father, John P. Spencer Sr., of Wales; his mother, Linda Voisine of Lewiston; a daughter, Cassidy Spencer of Litchfield; a sister, Samantha Spencer of Lewiston; a brother, Jake Spencer of Lewiston; a niece, Peyton Gosselin, a nephew, Bryce Bubier, both of Lewiston.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Francis and Marie Spencer and William and Irene Kell; and his best friend, Tony Lessard.
Although John is gone, he will never be forgotten by those lucky enough to have known him.
