GRAY — Lukas Johnson plated Kaleb Bridgham with an RBI double in the seventh inning to lift Poland to a thrilling 4-3 come-from-behind win over Gray-New Gloucester in WMC baseball action Tuesday.
Ethan Cailler held the Patriots hitless through four innings of relief to earn the win on the mound.
Gray-NG plated its three runs in the third inning to take a 3-1 lead before the Knights added one back in the fourth and then two in the seventh. Tyler St. Pierre was the hard-luck loser on the hill for the Patriots, finishing with four runs allowed — three earned — and nine strikeouts.
Girls’ lacrosse
Lewiston 15, Mtn. Valley 1
LEWISTON — Kelsey Dumond led a parade of goal-scorers with four as Lewiston toppled Mountain valley 15-1 in girls’ lacrosse action Tuesday.
Laurianne Murphy, Jess Cote and Sierra Thistlewaite all tallied two goals for the Blue Devils (8-2), while five others added one each in the victory. Sam Cote stopped 13 shots to register the win.
Nicole Burgess netted a goal in the second half for the Falcons (2-8) to break up Cote’s shutout bid, and Jordan True made seven saves.
Softball
Richmond 25, Buckfield 2
BUCKFIELD — Richmond scored 14 runs in the third inning to break the game wide open in a 25-2 win over Buckfield.
The unbeaten Bobcats had scored nine runs in the first two innings before making it 23-0 after three.
Kelsie Obi had two hits and three RBI for Richmond. Kelsea Anair added three hits while Payton Johnson and Noel Accord added a pair of hits. Jamie Plummer struck out seven and held the Bucks (5-7) to just three hits.
Buckfield got hits from Alannah Knox, Courtney Lowell and Elizabeth Damon.
