1940 – 2013

PORTLAND —   Valmore R. Dunn, 72, of Vienna, died at Maine Medical Center, Portland, on Monday, May 20, following a long illness.

He was born July 30, 1940, in Vienna, the son of Philip and Edith (Hall) Dunn and the son of adoptive parents, Lester Elliott and Evelyn (Dunn) Elliott.

He graduated from the UMass School of Agriculture and worked in sales for many years. Prior to retirement, he drove a school bus for SAD No. 9, Farmington, for 25 years. He was a member of Mill Stream Grange, as well as the Vienna, Pomona, State and National Granges.

Val is survived by his wife, Judith A. (Herdman) Dunn, whom he married in 1962; and their five children, Matthew, Elizabeth Libby and her husband, Kevin, Vernon, David and his wife, Gabriele, and Corydon.

He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Phylis Szady; and infant siblings, Corydon Guy Dunn and Clara Jean Dunn.
