JAY — Brooke Dolloff hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning to help lift Mountain Valley to a 12-11 win over Spruce Mountain in MVC softball Thursday.
 
Dolloff’s two-run homer came during a three-run inning in the ninth for the Falcons (9-4). The Phoenix (8-6) rallied in the bottom of the inning but came up a run short.
 

Ali Carlton led Mountain Valley with three hits while Shannon Laubauskas, Lindsay Marston and Katie Mills each had a pair of hits. Ladesta Tracy led the Phoenix with two hits, two RBI and two runners thrown out. Haley Doyen, Cassie Couture and Ashlie Robbins also had two hits for Spruce Mountain.

The Falcons trailed 4-3 entering the seventh but scored four runs to take a 7-4 lead. Spruce Mountain answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning to tie it. Both teams scored a pair in the eighth.

Oak Hill 6, Wiscasset 3

WISCASSET — Oak Hill reeled off five consecutive hits, including three doubles, for five runs  in the sixth inning to beat  Wiscasset, 6-3, in a softball game Thursday.

Wiscasset (3-11) was leading 3-0 for four innings before the Raiders (11-3) got on the board in the fifth inning with a run.

Oak Hill catcher Brooke LeBel, winning pitcher Kortni Michaud and Kayla Veilleux each punched up one-run doubles. Sadie Goulet had a one-run triple and Lauren Beganny smacked a two-run double

For the Wolverines, catcher Bri Goud tripled and Heidi Pinkham and Hannah Campbell each had two hits.

Edward Little 5, Oxford Hills 3
 
SOUTH PARIS — Edward Little won its four straight game with a 5-3 win over Oxford Hills Thursday in KVAC softball.
 
Coming off a win over previously unbeaten Cony, the Red Eddies (9-5) built an early 4-0 lead and held off the Vikings (11-4).

Kory Norcross, Sarah Hammond and Emily Schario each had two hits for EL, which scored three in the first inning and another in the second. Oxford Hills got a pair of hits each from Taylor Johnson and Shannon Fillebrown.

Schario scattered seven hits and struck out three to get the win. Crystal West got the loss, allowing nine hits.

Monmouth 13, Lisbon 2
 
LISBON FALLS — Kylie Kemp and Caroline Bonenfant each had two hits to lead Monmouth to a 13-2 win over Lisbon in MVC softball Thursday.
 
Becki Bryant struck out eight and scattered five hits for the win. Arianna Kahler had three hits for the Greyhounds (3-10).

Monmouth (6-6) scored two runs in the second and fourth and then broke things open with seven runs in the final inning.

OOB 8, Buckfield 6

OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Old Orchard Beach rang up four runs in the sixth inning and escaped Buckfield with an 8-6 victory in a softball game Thursday.

Winning pitcher Ashley Palkovic went the distance and Tracy Zukowski singled and doubled for the Seagulls.

For Buckfield, Samantha Zak had three singles, Elizabeth Damon singled and doubled, and Arrabine Dunn had two singles.

Baseball

Mountain Valley 5, Spruce Mountain 1

LIVERMORE FALLS — Mountain Valley strung together four hits and used several wild pitches to knock off Spruce Mountain, 5-1, in a baseball game that had no repeat hitters or extra base hits on Thursday.

Winning pitcher Ryan Nichols went the distance for the Falcons (7-6), throwing a two-hitter and striking out seven batters. Caleb Gauvin drove in one run in the second inning with single in the second inning for Mountain Valley.

For the Phoenix (7-6), Matt Vigue and Brandon Stearns each had a hit.

Monmouth 4, Lisbon 2

LISBON FALL — Kyle Fletcher smacked a three-run double with the bases loaded in the eighth inning as Monmouth Academy shook off Lisbon with a 4-2 victory in a baseball game Thursday.

The game was tied at 1-1 for seven innings before Fletcher put the Mustangs over the top. Josh Fournier had two hits and winning pitcher Nick Gagne struck out nine batters.

For Lisbon, losing pitcher Kyle Bourget singled, doubled and scored two runs, and he also struck out nine batters.

Buckfield 5, OOB 3

OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Keenan Stockdale hammered out a two-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put Buckfield (9-1) over the top with a 5-3 victory over Old Orchard Beach (5-9) in a baseball game Thursday.

Winning pitcher Jonah Williams struck out 10 batters and limited the Seagulls to just four hits.

OOB held a 3-1 lead for three innings before Stockdale’s heroics in the sixth. Tyler Vallee had two hits and catcher Jared Eastman doubled.

Oxford Hills 5, Edward Little 2

SOUTH PARIS — Oxford Hills produced three key runs in the fifth and sixth innings as Oxford Hills (14-1) slipped away with a 5-2 over Edward Little (5-9) in a baseball game.

Nick Bowie, Dalton Rice and Ty Martin all had two hits in the Vikings’ nine-hit attack. Ryan Godin got the win on the mound.

For Edward Little, Nate Pushard doubled and catcher Sean Ford had two hits.

Girls’ lacrosse

Edward Little 19, Mountain Valley 6

AUBURN — Hannah Johnston deposited six goals and Shelbea Russell had three as Edward Little took a 14-1 lead in the first half and went on to dismantle Mountain Valley, 19-6, in a girls’ lacrosse game Thursday.

Taylor Landry and Allarie Lever each scored two goals. Katie Hummes, Ann-Christen Kerl, Megan Coddington, Kate Sawyer, Taylor Berube and Kaelina Perron each scored a goal for the Red Eddies (5-7). EL goalie Julie Langevin got the win in net, making five saves.

For Mountain Valley (2-9), Lexy Dugnag and Nicole Burgess each scored two goals.

Cony 20, Oxford Hills 10
 
SOUTH PARIS — Bailey Logan scored five goals and added two assists to lead Cony to a 20-10 win over Oxford Hills in KVAC girls’ lacrosse Thursday.

Haley Hanks, Jose Lee and Haley Quirion each added three goals for the Rams. Oxford Hills got four from Kristen Gamache and three from Paige Garcia.

Lewiston 13, Gardiner 11
 
GARDINER — Laurianne Murphy had four goals and an assist to lead Lewiston to a 13-11 win over Gardiner in girls’ lacrosse Thursday.

Kelsey Dumond also had four goals for the Blue Devils (8-2). Mikaela St. Laurent added a pair for Lewiston. Gardiner (8-4) got six goals from Ali Day and four from Brooke Davis.
Sam Cote made 15 stops in goal as Lewiston outshot the Tigers 23-16.
