AUBURN —   Danny Rock cracked four hits and drove in four runs as Edward Little cruised to a 14-6 win over Erskine Academy in KVAC softball action on Monday.

Rock led EL’s 15-hit attack along with Kennedy Hubbard, who had two hits, and Molly Murray, who cracked a pair of doubles. Murray also picked up the win in the circle for the Red Eddies (10-5). Avery Bond led Erskine (7-8) with two hits.

Dirigo 7, Lisbon 1

DIXFIELD —  Cami Denney and Katelyn Olsen teamed up on a five-hitter as Dirigo defeated Lisbon, 7-1, in MVC softball action on Monday.

Denney scattered four hits and two walks over the first six innings to pick up the victory. Olsen finished the game, giving up the lone Lisbon run on one hit.

Britney Ellis led the Cougars with two RBIs, while Megan Bradbury also drove in a run. Kailyn Hill hit a home run for the Greyhounds, while Olivia Harrington had two hits.

Oak Hill 9, Mt. Abram 2

WALES — Kortni Michaud had three hits, including a double, and struck out 11 from the circle to lead Oak Hill to a 9-2 win over Mt. Abram in MVC softball action.

Brianna Hodgkins also had a double and was joined in collecting a pair of hits by Kelsey Collins and Jamie Prue, who had a triple for Oak Hill (12-3). Katie Jordan led Mt. Abram with a double.

Carrabec 7, Monmouth 6

MONMOUTH —   Carrabec rallied for three runs in the seventh inning to defeat Monmouth, 7-6, in MVC softball action.

Libby Chestnut had three hits and Brooke Lewis two to lead the Cobras (5-9), while Libby Chestnut drove in a pair of runs. Paxton Lessard and Bri Hicks had two RBIs apiece for the Mustangs (6-7).

Telstar 2, Hall-Dale 1

FARMINGDALE —   Jessie Dirago’s single scored Autumn Berry with the winning run in the top of the eighth as Telstar edged Hall-Dale, 2-1, in MVC softball action.

Dirago, who had a home run in the fifth to account for the other Telstar (9-4) run, also picked up the win in the circle by fanning 14 while yielding just one walk and three hits. Natasha Browne sent the game into extra innings for Hall-Dale (8-6) with a two-out RBI double in the bottom of the seventh.

Fryeburg 3, Freeport 1

FRYEBURG — Sarah Harriman had a perfect game through five innings, striking out 13 to lead Fryeburg Academy to a 3-1 victory over Freeport Monday.

Harriman lost the perfect game in the top of the sixth when she hit a batter. The runner was erased on an attempted steal of second base Freeport (5-10) broke up the no-hit bid in the seventh as Necole Harrison drilled a double to center.

The Raiders (14-1)  scored a run in the third inning as Kristen Chipman led off with a single, moved to second on an error, up to third on a sacrifice and scored on an infield error with one out. FA added two runs in the fifth inning keyed by three walks, an error and a wild pitch.

Baseball

Erskine 9, Edward Little 7

AUBURN —   John Suga belted a grand slam to lead Erskine Academy to a 9-7 victory over Edward Little in KVAC baseball action on Monday.

Erskine (5-11) broke a 6-6 tie with three runs in the seventh inning. Edward Little (5-10) had rallied to tie the game after Suga’s slam helped the Eagles build a 6-0 lead.

Four players accounted for all 11 of EL’s hits. Mike Hammond led the way with four hits. Lew Jensen added three hits, while Nate Pushard and Brandon Knapp cracked two hits apiece.

Monmouth 6, Carrabec 1

MONMOUTH — Three Monmouth pitchers combined to limit Carrabec to four hits as the Mustangs pulled away late to defeat the Cobras, 6-1, in MVC baseball action.

Brandon Goff, Josh Fournier and Nate Gagne held the Cobras in check until the offense got going with two runs in the fifth and three in the sixth. Fournier picked up his first win of the year in releif. Kyle Fletcher led the offense with two hits and Goff added a double for the Mustangs (10-4). Will Crawford had a double to drive in the only run for the Cobras (4-10).

Cony 3, Lewiston 2

CONY —  Mitchell Caron walked with the bases loaded to score Chandler Shostak with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning as Cony edged Lewiston, 3-2, in KVAC baseball action.

Shostak started the inning with the game’s only extra base hit, a double, off of hard-luck loser Brian Wigant, who struck out seven in seven innings for the Blue Devils (9-6). Zach Lachance led the Rams (11-4) with two hits and also picked up the win on the mound with a complete game two-hitter, fanning five and walking four. Taylor Carrier drove in the first two runs for Cony.

Dirigo 7, Lisbon 1

DIXFIELD —   After narrowly defeating St. Dom’s earlier in the day, Dirigo had an easier time with Lisbon in the second half of its doubleheader, scoring three runs in the first inning en route to a 7-1 win.

Spncer Trenoweth led the Cougars (14-2) with two hits, including a double, and two runs scored. Brett Whittemore added a double and scored a run for Dirigo. Gavin Arsenault struck out nine in six innings on the mound to pick up the victory. Kyle Bourget led the Greyhounds (5-10) with a pair of singles.
