GORHAM — Two teams from the Maine School of Science and Mathematics competed in the 13th annual Maine Regional Science Bowl competition held at the University of Southern Maine, Gorham Campus.

MSSM Team A placed in first, followed in second by Bangor High School and third by Waynflete High School in Portland.

Team A members included Belle O’Bryon of Hallowell, Rachel Olugbemi of Presque Isle, William Popov of Presque Isle, Roger Van Peski of Northport and Lucy Wilcox of New Gloucester and were chaperoned by Dr. Deb Eustis-Grandy, Science Department chair and biology instructor.

Team B members included Bethany Hartley of Whitefield, Max Holtzman of Rockport, Kate Keresey of Alton, Meghan Goodell of North Haven and Mia Harrow-Mortelliti of Holden and were chaperoned by Dr. Greg Hamlin, computer science instructor.

There were 11 Maine schools represented, with 17 teams vying for the win.
