STRONG — Funeral services for Rowena H. Reed were held on Monday at the Strong United Methodist Church, with Pastor Connie Maginnis officiating. Bruce Taylor offered the organ prelude and Pastor Connie opened with the greeting and a prayer followed by the Scripture reading of Proverbs 31:10-31. “In the Garden” was led by Nan Reed and Liz Marble and Gil Reed offered memories of his mother. The eulogy entitled “Our Life Is Like A Quilt” was led by Pastor Connie and followed by several members of the congregation offering words of remembrance. The Gospel Lesson was John 14:1-4, 18-19, and 25-27, which was followed by the Lord’s Prayer and the 23rd Psalm. The bearers, all wearing mittens knitted by Rowena, were Kevin Reed, Bryan Reed, Joel Reed, A. J. Reed, Jeff Allen, Lendall Allen, Darren Allen and Matthew Allen. Refreshments and memories were shared in the parish house following the services. Private family interment was at the West Freeman Cemetery. Funeral services were cared for and provided by the Wiles Remembrance Center, Farmington.
