LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of the Rev. Maurice N. Morin who died May 24, was celebrated on Wednesday at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul following prayers at Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home. The principal celebrant was the Most Rev. Joseph J. Gerry, OSB, Bishop Emeritus of Portland. The principal concelebrants were Monsignor Robert Lavoie, the Very Rev. Paul Plante, the Rev. Frank Morin, the Rev. Ralph Boisvert, the Rev. Richard Senghas, the Rev. Thomas Farley and the Rev. Armand Neault. Other concelebrating priests were Msgr. Andrew Dubois, Msgr. Rene Mathieu, Msgr. Joseph Ford, Msgr. Michael Henchal, Monsignor Paul Stefanko, Monsignor Paul Stefanko, the Reverands, Steven Concannon, Albert Roux, D. Joseph Manship, Lionel Chouinard, Aaron Damboise, Hilary Cameron, Bertrand Poussard, Joseph Daniels, John Mazzei, Claude Albert, James Knox, Marc Caron, Robert Parent, Philip M Tracy, C. James Martel, Jack O’Hara, Constanzo Piselli, Antonio Amato, Hubert Paquet, Alfred Jacques, Samuel Madza, SMA, Joseph Cahill, Norman Cormier, Richard Malo, Roger Chabot, Amselm Smedile, OSB, Kevin Martin, Robert Lariviere and Nathan March. Deacons in attendance were Irenee Richard, OP Denis Mailhot and Dennis Popadak. The homily was delivered by the Rev. Morin. The eulogy was presented by Father Moe’s brother Marcel Morin. At the conclusion of Mass, the Most Rev. Gerry, OSB and all the concelebrating priests and deacons sang the song Salve Regina in the Narthex of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul honoring their friend and colleague the Rev. Maurice Morin. Committal prayers were recited at St. Peter’s Cemetery by Monsignor Dubois. Pallbearers were Tony Morin, Marc Chabot, Don Chabot, Louis Morin, Patsy Cyr and Denise Morin. Ronald Ouellette of Ouellett’s Adult Foster Home served as honorary bearer. A reception of fellowship followed at the Carriage House.
