The support for victims of Lewiston’s fires continues to pour in from the sporting community.
The Portland Pirates, who will play 12 games at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston next season while the Cumberland County Civic Center undergoes renovations, announced Friday that they have extended by a week a raffle for five pair of “Baxter 12-packs” — tickets to the 12 Lewiston games — with all proceeds going to benefit the American Red Cross of Maine.
“Our thoughts are with those who have been affected by the recent fires in Lewiston,” Brian Petrovek, Managing Owner and CEO of the Pirates said. “The Pirates have built a loyal, passionate fan base in Lewiston, and we are glad to support the city and people of Lewiston, especially those who have been displaced, as they begin their recovery.”
The Colisee recently served as a Red Cross shelter for those affected by the fires.
The Pirates have had success in Lewiston when they’ve played games at the Colisee. Last season, they won five of the six games they played in town, and five of the six games were sold out.
Tickets for the raffle are $5 each, and can be purchased online at portlandpirates.com. The original end-date of the raffle was Friday, May 31, but Pirates staff has extended the contest through Friday, June 7.
