This year the work of many artists will represent a diverse selection of materials and styles both modern and traditional. There will be a 19th-century letterpress printer, woodworkers with custom cabinetry and contemporary housewares, classic and abstract paintings and a local favorite of recycled arts, as well as assemblage and vintage steam punk fashions.

Friends of the Cobbossee Watershed will offer demonstrations and ice cream from their boat as they educate individuals about public water safety and quality. Local farmers and participants of the Hallowell Farmers Market will be on site with a fresh selection of flowers and produce. University of Maine at Augusta Architecture Professor Robert Sherman will have an eye-catching installation of large, freestanding sculpture using cloth, tarp and lines.

Health and wellness practitioners will offer insight and advice for well-being and preventative maintenance. Local chiropractors will offer keys to maintaining a properly aligned posture. Massage therapists will help folks loosen their muscles, especially those who might have participated in the morning 5k Rail Trail Run. Representatives from Spectrum Generations and the Cohen Center will be available to share options and ways to plan for elder adult care.

The Riverfront Art Festival and Hallowellness day are in conjunction with the Kennebec Valley Whatever Festival, and the Hallowell Farmer’s Market. Events taking place throughout the day will include live music, a drum circle and spontaneous hula-hooping sessions.
