ROXBURY — Thirty eighth-grade students, three teachers and five parent chaperons from Mountain Valley Middle School in Mexico will do community service work this week in town.
The students will arrive by a school bus on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 4 and 5, for Giving Back Community Services, Nina Hodgkins, Roxbury town clerk and administrative assistant, said Thursday.
She said they will clean the beach at Roxbury Pond and paint tables, a gate, a bike rack, grills and road signs. They will also clean the Mexico/Frye and Village cemeteries.
Local businesses will supply Roxbury T-shirts to all of the students, and possibly giving the group a tour of Record Hill Wind’s 22 wind turbines and scenic views, Hodgkins said.
The students are to arrive by bus at the Town Office on Route 17 between 8:45 and 9 a.m. on June 4.
