Beacon House craft fair June 8
RUMFORD — The Beacon House Peer Center, a service under the Oxford County Mental Health Services, will hold a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at the Rumford Eagles Banquet Hall.
There will be food for sale, music and a children’s supervised play area. There will also be a Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle.

The Beacon House serves people with mental, emotional and behavioral illnesses. The recover/peer center at 3 Canal St. is looking to improve on services and add activities and events.
Donations can be sent to OCMHS, 150 Congress St., Rumford.
Daughters of Isabella meet
RUMFORD — St. Timothy Circle 504, Daughters of Isabella, will meet Tuesday, June 11, at the Holy Savior Church Hall.
Committee members are Lorraine Barre and Simonne Rafuse, chairpersons; Viola Worcester, Marie Coffin, Louise Richard and Maureen Leavitt.
The following have reached their 25-year-plus membership: Lorraine Barre, 46 years, in June; Mary Morgan, 27 years, in July; Pauline Buckingham, 62 years, in July; and in loving memory of deceased member, Aurora “Ora” Brown.

Dixfield Historical Society meeting
RUMFORD — On June 13 the Dixfield Historical Society will have their meeting at the Society meeting room, Main Street, at 6:30 p.m.
A program will be presented by Les Fossel of Restoration Resources, the premier historic house restoration company in Maine, founded in 1975. He will give a talk on Maine architecture.
Snowshoe Club dance June 15
RUMFORD — The Snowshoe Club will hold a dance from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 15.
Music will be provided by All Girl Band. Members and guests welcome.
Dempsey plans fatigue workshop
RUMFORD — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing and Rumford Hospital will offer a free fatigue workshop for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. Fighting Fatigue will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at Rumford Hospital, conference room C.
Cancer-related fatigue is one of the most common side effects of cancer and its treatments. Although it may seem counter-intuitive, decreased physical activity, which may be the result of illness or of treatment, can also lead to tiredness and lack of energy.
Nate Littlefield, ACSM Certified Health Fitness Specialist, will discuss tips and techniques for safely becoming more active, which can decrease the feeling of fatigue and help you feel energetic and stay active.

Dementia-related planning program
RUMFORD — Bill Kirkpatrick, program director for the Alzheimer’s Association, will present “Legal and Financial Planning” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at the Rumford Community Home, 11 John F. Kennedy Lane.
This workshop is for anyone who would like to know more about what legal and financial issues to consider and how to put plans in place when dealing with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. RSVP to Sue Ellen Richardson by calling 364-7863.
