KINGFIELD — The western mountains of Maine will come alive with the sound of music as the Bangor Symphony Orchestra performs at the 11th annual Kingfield Pops on Saturday, June 29. The BSO, led by music director and conductor Lucas Richman, will be performing family favorites such as Turkey in the Straw, selections from Guys and Dolls, and the March from Indiana Jones by John Williams.

Joining the BSO on stage this year will be Canada’s award-winning world music band, Sultans of String. This dynamic and energetic group thrill their audiences with Spanish Flamenco, Arabic folk, Cuban rhythms and French Manouche Gypsy-jazz.

Also performing are singer-songwriter Maine native Anni Clark, the very talented Smith Brothers, exciting youth performers Flight 317 and the soothing sound-makers Western Mountain Trash Can Band.

Gates to Kennedy Farm open at 4:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.kingfieldpops.com. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Children 17 and under get in free. Come for the music, stay for the fireworks.
